Happy New Year | Tyler, Longview Family Photography

By now the Christmas tree has (probably) been kicked to the curb, a few pounds have been added, and a few resolutions have been made - a brand new year is here, and with that are some exciting changes for Lori Ivey Photography.  Each December I take off for a few weeks to step back and take a good look at my business.  Specifically, how I can serve my clients even better.  2013 was a wonderful year and I'm thrilled to see what 2014 brings.

I want to thank each and every one of my clients that allowed me to capture images of their beautiful families.  Thank you.  Without you my business would not exist!

My biggest goal for 2014 is to be able to spend more time with each of my clients.  I want to continue providing the very best experience from start to finish.  For me, that means taking fewer sessions so I can give everyone I work with my very best.

For those of you on my email subscription list - you will be in the know and have the opportunity to book sessions before anyone else!  Each month you can expect an email from me with available session dates, the ever popular Mini Events, and other news right in your inbox.

Fewer sessions also means a few changes in my pricing.  One thing I have always strived to do is provide information up front to anyone considering working with me.  A typical family session takes about 10 hours of my time - most of that being behind the scenes!  And one of my biggest pet peeves is when a business person appears to be secretive about what working with them will cost.  I encourage every potential client to look over my products and pricing before they ever book a session.  And I'm encouraging you to do the same.  You can find all of this information on the pricing page of my website.  Click on the Welcome Guide for a comprehensive list of products and services:  Pricing Page

This session was with a sweet girl who you may have met.  Jessica is an art student and a photographer herself who assists me on shoots from time to time.  We did her little family session at Danville Christmas Tree Farm and I loved everything about it.  Enjoy!

Christmas Cards ~ 2012

It's that time of year!  I actually begin thinking about our family Christmas Card around September!  Getting a beautiful card in the mail to display with images of our friends and family just makes me do a happy dance!

I've retired all previous designs and I'm so excited to unveil the designs for 2012!  I've teamed up with a wonderful designer and I can't wait to order these gorgeous Christmas Cards for my beautiful clients!

I LOVE this family.  I look forward to their session every year.  And not because they are amazing and sweet - but FUNNY.  If I could film the antics these 3 pull BEHIND me while I'm shooting - just to get this little man to smile - well that video would be the definition of VIRAL.  We laugh and play - and more than anything - I love getting to see this little guy grow every year.

Thank you M Family for letting me into your lives!  (And we make THE BEST Christmas cards together!)

First Session in the Studio!

This past weekend I got to play with this sweet little one.  Her parents are basically like family - love them!  And she agreed to bring this sweet girl over for me to play with in the new studio.  My first Mini Session Event is coming up in a few weeks and I can't wait!

AND - if you're interested in updating your kids' pics (kids of ALL sizes) - pop over to my Mini Session Event post and consider signing up.  I have a few spots left and it's such a fun and easy way to get a few current images and Christmas cards.

Until then here are a few shots we got together last week:

I'm pretty sure she thought she was Santa here:

New Christmas Cards are Here!

Rusty is bringing the Fall decorations out of storage this weekend, my cocunut Scentsy (you can buy it HERE) has been replaced by pumpkin, and humid heat has turned into a cool, smoke scented morning wind.  FALL IS FINALLY HERE!

With that comes the addition of my new Christmas cards for 2011.  I still have many more templates available from previous years - but this year I decided to go with a modern edge.

Christmas Cards

I absolutely LOVE Christmas cards.  Growing up my mom saved everyone we ever received.  Each year I couldn't wait to get out the card basket and rummage through old cards through the years.  Back in the 80's you were super fancy if you actually had a picture on your family Christmas card.  But now they are very common and are my favorite choice (obviously).  Now I do the same thing my mother did and it's so neat each year to look back and see how friends and families have grown and changed through the years.

Cards come in literally all shapes and sizes. From tri-folds, to flat, to press-printed or on photo paper.  I offer several designs to choose from and can do a custom design for a fee.   I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

Examples of PRESS PRINTED cards:
These are beautiful and come in different finishes such as pearl or linen.

Examples of PHOTO cards:
These are printed on photo paper - just like prints, and have a white back.

Below is my 2010 Christmas Catalogue.  In it you will find designs offered for the 2010 Holiday Season.  Enjoy!
